Cathedral

Cathedral of San Ignacio de Velasco, This majestic work was begun by the Jesuits on July 31, 1748, with 18 wooden columns, that is to say a stretch more than the rest of the constructions made by Schmid, all of them, carved to the salomónico , And painted with ordinary colors. It had 4 brick arches in the presbytery, and 14 windows, four of which had glass, the rest of the wooden shutters. The main altar was arranged in four painted brick columns, and three streets, indicating that Father Schmid did not make the new altar. It also had two collateral altarpieces, two organs in the choir, and a table and staircase pulpit. It is also known that the interior was all painted with clay molding. Also the altar as well as the collateral was golden and profiled. In the body of the church there were seats for the Indian judges and a bronze pillar, and a deposit of wide guards. In the sacristy there was a niche with a Lord attached to the column, two Christs, 8 large pictures of canvas, and 19 paper prints, as well as tin ewer and beautiful wooden chest of drawers.
